As I write this we are in the
midst of holiday bliss. Did Santa
bring you that new Velazquez
guitar you asked for? Too bad.
How would you like to share
your thoughts about that new CD
peaking out of your stocking? If
so jot them down and send them
to us for possible inclusion in the
next newsletter.
Id like to thank Trena Pelham
for her fine review of the LAGQ.
Im sure that many of you are getting
a little board of seeing the
same old names in these pages.
Please send any letters or articles
for consideration to us.
Check out our new web site,
www.PhillyGuitar.org. It will contain
up-to-the-minute info on
upcoming concerts and events.
Thanks so much to Brian Egras
for getting it up and running.
The Christmas party was quite a
hoot. As usual, when we do a pot
luck, the food was great. Those of
you familiar with Holy Communion
Church, where the party
was held and where we often
hold small concerts, would not
have recognized the upstairs hall.
It was decorated with black-draped
walls on all sides, with
tiered seating and a large platform
stage. We used that room
for an impromptu salon. It was
awesome. Id like to say a special
thanks to Jean Taraborelli and Megan Forrestal, who
do so much to organize these
parties. They also organize the
receptions after concerts.
The student recital will be held
this year on Saturday, May 1st.
I hope any teachers who have
deserving students, will encourage
them to play. Again, Bob Page will
be making up the program, so
please contact him at 215.567.2972
with your students names and
pieces they will be playing.
We are having several concerts
in succession this winter and
spring. I urge you to come to
these. Please dont let a little cold
weather keep you from seeing
these wonderful performers.
