Gabriel Bianco
French guitarist Gabriel Bianco has established an international reputation as a soloist, chamber musician, recording artist, educator, and advocate for new music. Recognized as one of the leading guitarists of his generation, he has performed in more than 50 countries and built a career that combines artistic excellence with a deep commitment to collaboration and education.
Born in Paris in 1988, Gabriel began studying guitar with his father before entering the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris. He later studied with Olivier Chassain at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, earning both guitar and chamber music prizes with the congratulations of the jury.
His international career was launched through an extraordinary series of competition victories, culminating in First Prize at the Guitar Foundation of America International Concert Artist Competition in 2008. Additional first prizes followed in major competitions throughout France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Poland, Portugal, and the United States.
Today, Gabriel’s artistic life extends far beyond the competition stage. He has performed at prestigious venues including the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, the Herbst Theatre in San Francisco, the Central Conservatory of Beijing, and major venues in Tokyo, Zurich, Lausanne, Kyiv, and Bogotá.
Chamber music plays a central role in his career. Since 2012 he has been a member of Quatuor Éclisses, contributing numerous arrangements and recordings to one of Europe’s leading guitar quartets. He also collaborates regularly with singers and instrumentalists and remains active in the commissioning and creation of contemporary music.
Gabriel has released eight recordings and continues to balance performing, recording, arranging, and teaching. Since 2018 he has served at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he directs higher guitar studies and helps train the next generation of professional guitarists.
